CCSAI Advising Council

CCSAI Advising Council

What is the Advising Council?

The Advising Council is a group of appointed students who provide diverse perspectives to the work that we do in supporting the student community at Centennial College through campaigns, services and activities that make a lasting and positive impact. These advising council members are a group of 3 -5 students who applied and were accepted to join the council. This group provides unique perspectives and represents the larger student population in Governance and advocacy matters.

The Council

Reporting to the co-chairs and the Advocacy Coordinator, the Advising Council is a committee which acts to enhance and strengthen the CCSAI Board of Directors by giving advice and feedback based on the members’ experiences, conversations with peers, and proposed solutions. The Advising Council was created to help further represent the diverse student population at Centennial College. The council is also responsible to support and encourage awareness of social justice opportunities, as well as participate on scholarship, bursary and awards selection committees, when appropriate.

Members of the Advising Council will be responsible for evaluating and providing feedback on pertinent Board activities. 5-7 at-large students will be appointed to the Advising Council on the recommendation of the Board and staff. The appointment of these students will be through a public process and based on their interest in helping improve CCSAI, the student experience, and the diversity of their life experiences.
