Already Covered?
If you are already covered by an extended health and dental plan, you can opt out of ours and receive a refund. You can find all the details on the WeSpeakStudent website. Please note that we do retain $10 to maintain Accidental Death & Dismemberment benefits, access to the 24/7 student assistance plan for mental health and crisis support, and to cover administrative costs of processing the opt out.

When does my coverage start?
Your coverage begins after a two-week blackout period at the start of the semester but is retroactive to the first day of the month in which your semester began. How do I submit an Accident Insurance claim?
To submit an Accident Insurance claim, you must provide proof of your enrollment status. Complete the IA Accident Claim Form and attach both the CASS form and a Letter of Enrollment. Once all documents are ready, submit them through the Claimsecure portal.
Can I opt-out of the WeSpeakStudent insurance to apply for the Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
No. All full-time students with a student health and dental plan—domestic or international—are not eligible for the CDCP, even if they opt out or don’t use their plan.
