New Club Alert: CCSAI International Development Student Collective Club
We’re excited to introduce the International Development Student Collective Club (IDC), tied to the International Development Program at Centennial College. IDC is a community for students passionate about tackling global challenges. Through various activities, from educational events to cultural exchanges, IDC empowers members to become leaders in international development. The Board is developing the CCSAI Strategic Plan for 2025-2028, and we want YOU to be a part of it! Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA) Policy Strategy Conference 2024
Big news! CCSAI had the honor of hosting the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA) Policy Strategy Conference 2024, making us the first college in Canada to do so! At the conference, CCSAI President AJ, Morningside VP Baljit, and PAC representative Logan joined forces with student leaders from across the country. Together, they formulated key advocacies that represent the voice of students, pushing for necessary changes at the federal level. This conference was a powerful platform for advocating for student needs and making our voices heard on the national stage.
Meeting with City of Toronto Youth Cabinet regarding U Pass
In an exciting development, President AJ and VP Khushbir recently met with Toronto Youth Cabinet from the City of Toronto to discuss the possibility of a U Pass. This initiative aims to provide students with more affordable and accessible transportation options within the city. It’s a step towards easing the financial burden on students and improving our daily commutes. Stay tuned for updates as we work towards making this happen!
Ontario Student Voices Policy Conference 2024
Your Story Arts Centre VP Vivian and Ashtonbee VP Rofiyat represented CCSAI at the Ontario Student Voices (OSV) Policy Conference. They worked alongside other student leaders to identify and advocate for the top issues affecting students across the province. The key priorities they highlighted include tackling Food Insecurity, enhancing Health and Wellness services, and making Education more Affordable. These issues are at the forefront of our advocacy efforts, and we’re committed to fighting for meaningful changes that benefit all students.
More funding for Youth Mental Health Support
Your President, Ajane Adams had a meeting with the Minister of Mental Health where they discussed allocating more funds for the youth mental health welfare.
