The Board Bulletin – February

The Board Bulletin – February

Hello, Centennial family. As the year-end approaches, February will be a month to bring back good memories. Here’s the news we come with from the last month!

International Advocacy? We are here for it

Our President Ajané Adams and Downsview’s VP Sanaa Bayi attended the International Forum and AGM hosted by the World University Service of Canada. There, they advocated for students by exploring global challenges faced by post-secondary institutions, collaborating with leaders from all over the world during workshops and meetings too. For them, it provided meaningful dialogues and connections with other leaders.

Food security for Centennial students

Some of our board members gathered with Centennial College’s leadership teams and stakeholders during the Food Security Design Jam, an opportunity to work towards different ways to combat food insecurity on campus. We recognize the significant impact of food insecurity on student well-being and academic success and we know that initiatives must be implemented to address this issue.

Celebrating Black History Month

We hosted our annual Black History Month Party. The event serves as a platform to celebrate the achievements of Black individuals throughout history, highlighting their cultural, social, political, and artistic endeavors. It stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Black excellence at Centennial College and serves as a reminder of the ongoing journey toward equity and inclusion for all.
