New to Centennial College? Here’s What CCSAI Can Do for You

Starting college is exciting, but it comes with questions too. Where do you go for academic support? What happens if an unexpected cost pops up? Where can you find health and dental care, legal help, food assistance, or ways to get involved on campus?

That’s what the Centennial College Student Association Inc. (CCSAI) is here for.

CCSAI connects students with services, resources and opportunities that support your college experience, not just your coursework. If you’re new to Centennial, here’s what’s worth knowing.

What Is CCSAI?

CCSAI supports Centennial College students beyond the classroom. Whether you need help accessing a service, finding financial support, taking care of your health, or getting more involved in campus life, CCSAI points you toward the resources that can help.

Not sure where to start? You don’t have to figure it out alone. CCSAI is your first stop for information, support and resources throughout your student journey.

Financial and Academic Support

College comes with expenses, and those costs can make it harder to stay focused on school. CCSAI offers support through the Study Advantage Initiative (formerly the Learning Cost Reimbursement program), which helps eligible students with qualifying education-related costs.

Check the program details and rules and deadlines early so you know your options. CCSAI also runs a free Tax Clinic each year for students who need help filing.

Health and Dental Resources

Your health is part of your student experience. CCSAI provides access to a Health and Dental Plan, giving you another place to turn when you need support. Domestic students can also access the Student Assistance Program for wellness and counselling support, and the Centre for Accessible Learning and Counselling Services through the college.

Look into what’s covered and when, so you’re not caught off guard by a deadline.

Legal Support

Legal questions can come up when you least expect them. CCSAI offers free legal services for eligible students, giving you access to guidance when you need to understand a legal issue.

Check the eligibility requirements before booking an appointment.

Food and Basic Needs Support

Balancing school, work and everyday expenses isn’t always easy. CCSAI connects students with resources like the Food Bank, run in partnership with Daily Bread Food Bank, and the Breakfast Program for support during times of food insecurity. You can also check out Used Books and Classifieds to save on textbooks and supplies.

If you need assistance, don’t wait until things feel overwhelming. Reaching out is the first step.

Get Involved Outside the Classroom

College isn’t just assignments and exams. Getting involved is one of the best ways to meet people, discover new interests, and feel connected to campus. CCSAI supports:

Keep an eye on what’s happening through CCSAI, whether you want to join a club, attend an event, or just try something new.

Not Sure What You Need?

That’s completely normal, especially when you’re new. You might know something’s wrong but not know which service fits. Start by exploring CCSAI’s full list of services and browsing what’s available. You can also connect with the CCSAI team directly to get pointed in the right direction.

Make CCSAI Part of Your Centennial Experience

From financial and academic support to health, dental and legal resources, food assistance, clubs and events, CCSAI is here to help you make the most of your time at Centennial.

New to Centennial? Take a few minutes to explore what CCSAI offers. You might find a resource you didn’t know you had access to.
