Advocacy
The CCSAI Advocates are here to support the success of students at Centennial College.
The CCSAI is, first and foremost, an advocacy organization. We are here to empower students. One of the most critical functions of this mission is to provide representation to ensure student voices are being heard at all decision-making tables in the college and beyond and to help ensure fairness for all students.

How a CCSAI Advocate Can Help You
Advocates at Centennial College Student Association Inc., are appointed to help solve problems for students. They are here to ensure that students understand all their rights to have the best and most fair college experience possible. Being students themselves, they understand hardships that can arise during your educational journey and are here to help navigate them.
There are many policies and procedures that may be confusing for students. Sometimes you feel you have received an unfair grade or have concerns about a professor or classmate. The advocates are here to help.
CCSAI Advocates do their best to support students with:
-
- Grade Appeals
- Issues With Faculty
- Potential Government-Related Concerns (strike)
- Understanding Various Policies and Procedures
- Domestic and International Student Concerns
- Other concerns impacting your student experience
Advocates act as a listening ear and helping hand to ensure students can find the support they need at the college. Our advocates pride themselves on having an open-door policy so students can reach out at any time of the academic year.
Our advocates aim to create a confidential, safe space for students and highlight all the services Centennial and CCSAI offer. A major goal of the advocates is to break that disconnect between the college and students. Don’t hesitate to contact an advocate today!
Grade Appeal Support
Do you feel you’ve been graded improperly? Do you feel that your grade does not accurately reflect your academic performance or assessment criteria? Centennial College has a process to address these issues but it can be confusing. The CCSAI has student advocates on staff to help you navigate this process and understand eligibility requirements. Our advocates can also be a silent support in grade appeals meetings.
Please contact our team via email at [email protected] for more information or to set up a meeting with a Student Advocate.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can advocacy help me?
The CCSAI advocacy service is absolutely free and completely confidential. This service is provided to all the students at Centennial College. We listen to all your concerns and lend you support; the students act as an information hub and a navigation service helping you understand Centennial College processes and procedures, and the resources available to you. If the Student Advocates do not have the resources to assist you, they will help you find who does!
We guide you through all the appeal processes by making you aware about all the policies and procedures designed by the college for students. We help you reach the appropriate person so that your problem is solved promptly. We can accompany you in a meeting with faculty if you want us to. We help you negotiate through both formal and informal dispute resolutions with professors.
If you have any concerns, please contact us to meet with our advocates.
What is a grade appeal?
At Centennial College, Grade Appeal is a request that students can make if they feel that any clerical error has resulted in miscalculation of the grade, or the grade awarded did not reflect fairly the student’s academic performance and/or the stated requirements for the course.
Where can I find policies and procedures?
You can access all of the college policies and procedures on the Centennial College website.
