Provincial Government Announces Millions Will Be Given To Ontario Colleges and Universities
Toronto ON - Ontario students will benefit from the 2009 Budget announced by Finance Minister, Dwight Duncan this afternoon.
Over $780 million in capital funding will be pumped into the Ontario College and University system over the next two years. The goal of the Ontario Government is to modernize facilities and boost long-term research and skills training capacity.
Colleges in Ontario will receive an additional $488 million over the next two years to improve infrastructure and deferred maintenance.
The contents of the budget were made possible partly because of the hard work by students and related groups who lobbyed hard to ensure students interests were met in the 2009 budget.
