CCSAI Relay for Life

Centennial Residence in partnership with the CCSAI, is holding Centennial’s first ever Relay for Life! It will be held at the Global Kingdom Church on March 21st from 7pm to 7 am. 

Relay is an overnight fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society. To sign up, you create a team of 10 people and each person should raise $100. The overall goal, set by the organizing committee, is to raise $10,000. The actual event is 12 hours of celebrating those who have survived, remembering those we have lost, and fighting back for those who are going through cancer.

CCSAI Board Member being featured at film festival

Ryan Liu, Campus Director at the Story Arts Centre is having his film, All We’ve Got, screened at the annual Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival T24 Project.

Liu, a second-year Film and Broadcast student directed the film starring Paul Dods, Stephanie Bergeron and Nick Aliwalas. It’s the story of three people stuck in their house with very little food left, a couple and a mutual friend try to get through the days without driving each other crazy. Soon their resources are depleted and they are forced to go outside in order to survive.

Centennial College changing to include reading week in each semester

Centennial College announced today they will be switching to a semester model that includes a reading week in each of the fall, winter and summer semesters.

The change is to be implemented in the Fall 2014 semester and will be a departure from the 15-week semester model currently employed at Centennial College.

What this means for students

The new model is often referred to as a 7-1-7 model implying there are seven weeks of school, a break and then another seven weeks. In reality the week break will come after the sixth, seventh or eighth week depending on the year. The week’s break will always coincide with a statutory holiday: Thanksgiving...
